The windows that make the house
Every memorable home has them: the big fixed window framing the lake, the arched window over the entry, the circle window in the gable. Picture and architectural windows are about view and character — they don't open, so every square inch is glass. In impact form, they bring that drama with full storm rating.
Why fixed windows perform so well
No moving parts means no air leakage through operable seals — picture windows are among the most energy-efficient windows you can buy. It also means fewer failure points in a storm: nothing to rattle, no locks to stress, just glass bonded into a strong frame. And per square foot, they're often more affordable than operable windows of the same size.
Architectural shapes
Arches, half-rounds, eyebrows, trapezoids, triangles — if your home has shaped windows, they're part of its identity. We custom-build impact replacements to match the existing shapes, so the house keeps its character. Shaped windows are nearly always fixed glass; pair them with operable windows nearby for ventilation.
Design thinking
The classic Florida move: a picture window flanked by casements or single-hungs — big view in the middle, airflow on the sides. In living rooms facing pools, lakes, or conservation land, maximizing fixed glass and minimizing frames gives you the view you paid for when you bought the lot.
